staying at grootbos was a far from luxe experience. at $1500 a night, being charged for dinner drinks was totally ridiculous. also, when we asked for a breakfast to-go for our whale watching tour, the staff acted like it was a tremendous burden. absolutely no upgrade or complimentary gestures for such an inconvenience, just unacceptable!

The staff were phenomenal! ! Really made us feel like we belong here. We absolutely loved the evening turndown service where candles lit our room and a warm bath was waiting for us. Plus, the food was outstanding! Each dish was presented beautifully!

It was just a proper fit for a couple of nights in Gansbaai with good value considering the price it charged. The view from our cottage was stunning, with beautiful nature all around, making it a real pleasure to relax outside. Try to book a room with a fireplace for a cozy evening experience.

Recommended for anyone wanting to connect with nature!
